Jaydon, six years old with a brain tumour, wished to have a suite at a Vancouver Whitecaps FC game for his team. When he was four, Jaydon started experiencing severe headaches when he woke up in the morning and within 24 hours of going to a physician, he was getting surgery to remove a brain tumor.
Jaydon then spent three months in California getting follow-up treatment, as the biopsy determined it was a cancerous tumor. His team, the Port Moody Pirates, helped with fundraising.
“Jaydon's team were around when he was going through his treatment,” said Jaydon’s Dad, Dave. “They know his situation and they’ve been there for him. They’re more than a team, they’re best friends.”
In addition to a surprise visit during his team practice from the Whitecaps, Jaydon & his team had VIP transportation to and from the match; a stadium and locker room tour; customized soccer jerseys and the opportunity to play on the field at halftime.
"These are the lifetime memories you want for your child. Jaydon rated the day an 11 out of 10. He hasn't rated anything over a four in a long time... so that is huge!" - Janet, Jaydon's Mom.
