  • Vancouverite scares up donations for Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon with Halloween haunt

Vancouver BC, Oct. 21, 2016—Scott Lee has a history of whipping up scary houses that benefit Make-A-Wish® BC & Yukon…and in 2016, that history gets a little more unnatural…

For his 8th annual haunted house benefitting Make-A-Wish, “Scary Scotty” Lee will be welcoming guests into his Museum of Unnatural History, where something has gone terribly wrong. A loud groan shook the building during the nightly security routine, and before the guards could react, smoke filled the Ancient Egypt Exhibit and a menacing demon appeared… what happened next? You’ll have to find out for yourself.

The spooky fun takes place at 3166 East 16th Avenue, in Vancouver, on October 29th, 30th & 31st from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m., with entrance by donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s BC & Yukon chapter.

“Halloween is all about kids, and I want to do something to benefit kids, plus it’s fun for me!” Lee said, explaining that he is a carpenter by trade, with experience in theatre and film set construction, making him well-suited to creating a quality haunted house.

Planning and design begins in August, and each October, Lee’s yard transforms into the annual haunt.

“Even though it’s a lot of work,” said Lee, “My team and I find it rewarding to provide a Halloween destination for families, and help grant wishes for kids battling life-threatening medical conditions.”

“We love it when people get creative with their fundraising efforts,” said Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon chapter CEO Ross Hetherington. “This is FUNRaising at its finest, and we’re very grateful to Scott for spreading hope, strength and joy…as well as a few fun scares, through his incredible efforts.”

Lee’s attraction is safe and suitable for kids of all ages, though it’s recommended for ages seven and up.  Visit www.scaredstiffproductions.com for full details.
