• 2 167 Wishes Granted
  • Year in Review 2015

Our mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-  threatening medical conditions to enrich the human  experience with hope, strength and joy.

In the pursuit of this mission, Make-A-Wish receives no government  funding, relying solely on the generosity of individuals, organizations and  businesses.

We grant several different types of wishes:

  - I wish to have…”

  - “I wish to see…”

  - “I wish to go…”

  - “I wish to be…” and

  - “I wish to give…”

Our referrals come to us from parents, legal guardians, from doctors, and from social workers.

A child’s condition does not have to be terminal to qualify for a wish.

There is no family financial criteria to receive a wish. We do not discriminate based on a family's financial situation.

The BC & Yukon Chapter is the oldest in Canada (est. 1983), and has granted more wishes than any other chapter in Canada to date.

67 per cent of ALL wishes include some sort of travel, and wishes to travel are the most popular wishes.

Our financial statements are publicly available. If you would like to request a copy, please contact our office.
