World Wish Day ®- Tuesday, April 29th

World Wish Day ®celebrates the day, 33 years ago, that Chris Greicius received his wish to be a police officer for the day, inspiring the creation of Make-A-wish® and the organization’s global wish-granting movement.

Growing up, we all had wishes… be a superhero, to go to an exotic destination, to meet a favourite celebrity or to have a puppy.  For children with life-threatening medical conditions – these wishes mean so much more.

Since Chris’ wish in 1980, more than 310,000 children around the world have had their one-true-wish granted by Make-A-Wish. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon has granted over 1,600 wishes for children with a life-threatening medical condition. Each wish carries a child and their family from a place of uncertainty to a place of Hope, Strength and Joy.

Our goal is to refocus attention on the positive by providing a unique, once-in-a-lifetime wish experience that a family might not otherwise have.

Celebrate this global day of wish- granting with us for children around the world with life-threatening medical conditions. #SHAREYOURWISH

Thanks to our friends at Honda Canada and the Vancouver Canucks, Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon wish kids & their families enjoyed the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic game held on Sunday, March 2nd at BC Place.

Although the game didn’t end in a win for our very own Canucks, the Ottawa Senators won big not only on the ice but for Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario who were the recipients of a new Honda (courtesy of Honda Canada) .

Thank you to all for your continued support of Make-A-Wish and for helping us all share the power of a wish!®
