Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Make-A-Wish® BC & Yukon.  Our office has a small number of paid staff and relies heavily on volunteers to help with fundraising events, speaking engagements, resource development and the granting of wishes.

If you would like to submit your LinkedIn profile or resume to our Volunteer Coordinator we can let you know if we have particular need for your skill set.

We are currently looking for volunteers in the Courtenay, Comox, Langely, Surrey and Tri-Cities areas.  Please contact us if you can help out!.   Below are some ideas that may be of interest to you:

  • We are always looking for people who are willing to help us raise funds either by organizing a fundraiser among friends or connecting us with workplace giving programs. See our ‘giving programs’ for more ideas.
  • If you have school age children, taking part in our Kids for Wish Kids® and Kids Change programs is a great way to support the work we do.
  • Please let us know if you’d like to be on our mailing list so that you can hear about upcoming wishes, stories and events benefiting Make-A-Wish
  • We also need people to help get the word out about the work we do. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook!  Our Twitter handle is MakeAWishBCYK and our Facebook page is Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon

Basic Requirements: Volunteers working on events or with children must complete a criminal record check. You must be over 19 to help with events and over 21 to grant wishes. If you are younger and want to help please see our Kids for Wish Kids Program.
